7-day motorcycle tour in Northern Thailand, Scenic Mountain ride to visit the Golden Triangle where Thailand, Myanmar and Laos meet.
Introducing you to the scenic and historical Highland tour of Northern Thailand where you travel through the 3 ancient Kingdoms of Thailand. Commence your tour in Chiang Mai, capital of the Northern Lanna Kingdom, and ride to the highest mountain peak of Thailand. Visit Maehongson, City of Shan, rich in tradition and culture and home town of the Long Neck Karen tribe. You ride along a section of the Thailand Myanmar border, then head South, to the first and most powerful ancient Kingdom of Thailand-Sukhothai. You visit the ruined kingdom of Sukhothai, a world heritage site. Then onto the famous Golden triangle and Chiang Khong part of "Lan-Chang Kingdom", then return to Chiang Mai.
The tour has short sections of gravel road, to access cultural, traditional, and natural attractions.

Tour Itinerary - 7 Days
- Day 01
Chiangmai – Pai - MaeHongson Distance 250 Kms.
Early Morning depart Chiang Mai, and you are heading North for 30 km. This ride will familiarize you with your motorcycle. First stop is at an Orchid and Butterfly farm, before continuing on to Mork fa waterfall, where you can relax and have some refreshments. You then continue on the steep winding mountain road until you reach “Pong Duad” Hot Spring, you then continue riding on a beautiful scenic road to Pai, where you relax for lunch.
After Lunch continue riding along a mountain pass heading for Maehongson, through Indigenous jungle and mountain farms, this bikers dream road has more than 1800 curves. On route you can relax at Lod Cave, or visit the cave on a bamboo raft. Enjoy the scenic journey until you reach your hotel at Maehongson.
- Day 02
Maehongson – Khun Yuam – Mae Sariang Distance 338 Kms.
After early breakfast, you visit the local morning market, and see traditional local life, many interesting foods, monks walking in their bright orange robes, and people doing their normal daily routines. You will visit a Thai Burmese style temple, richly detailed and decorated in Gold, before heading South to visit the famous Long Neck Karen village. Here you can rest and meet the Karen Long Neck Tribe with their golden rings around their necks, arms, and legs. You then head off on the winding mountain road, where you see a variety of scenery, including, farm lands, forest, paddy fields, and villages. Between November and February you will see beautiful wild sun flower covered mountains. You will visit the highest waterfall in Thailand (Mae Surin Waterfall), and then take an easy ride to the Thai town of Khun Yuam for lunch.
After Lunch continue along the mountain pass through beautiful jungle and mountain farm land, visit Tham Kaew Komol (Calzite Crystal Cave) This cave is becoming increasingly popular, and the cave is said to be the most beautiful cave of Thailand. You continue on the road to your Hotel at Maesariang, which is a Thai Burmese Border Town.
- Day 03
Maesariang – Maelamad - Maesot Distance 266 Kms.
After early Morning breakfast you will be heading South along the beautifull winding road along the mountain and Moei river, which follows the Thai Burmese Border. You will rest at a beautiful viewpoint overlooking the Thai – Burmese border, then continue along the border road, following the Moei river to Maerlamad, a large border Thai Town for lunch.
After Lunch you visit the temple of the white jade Buddha, and continue along the winding mountain road, until it straightens on the way to Maesot, (Ancient gateway from Asia to the Andeman Sea), where you can visit Moei border market, and do some souvenir shopping. After shopping you can relax in your Maesot hotel.
- Day 04
Maesod – Sukhothai – Phrae Distance 368 Kms.
Early departure and you are riding a winding road through indigenous mountain forest, where you will visit hilltribe markets and see morning local life, before continuing on to Tak . From Tak you are heading off on super highway passing through Thai Cities and rice fields to Sukhothai, The ancient capital of Thailand.
Here you will visit Sukhothai Historical Park, where you will see the ancient ruins of Budhist culture. Riding through the ancient ruins is guaranteed to be one of your best experiences in Thailand.
After Sukhothai Historical Park , you head off to visit Sri sactchanalai Historical Park, which has ruinssimilar in style to those at Old Sukhothai. You stop for lunch at a local Thai Restuarant.
After Lunch continue along the pass through indigenous mountain jungle, local villages and mountain farm land to your hotel at Phrae.
- Day 05
Phrae – Phayao - Chiangrai Distance 304 Kms.
Early Morning commence riding to visit local attractions such as temples, Teak houses and Phae Muang Phi Forest Park, then head off to Phayao City, which is situated next to a large lake, you have a combination of roads, first on winding roads through local villages, farm lands, indigenous mountain forest, then you use the super highway through local cities and rice fields until you reach Phayao City, where you stop for lunch at a restaurant on the banks of the lake.
After Lunch continue along the superhighway through small cities, and farm lands, untill you reach "Wat Rongkhun", which is a recently built unique white temple, by a famous Thai Artist, and is now a marjor tourist attraction. From here you head to your hotel at Chiangrai.
- Day 06
Chiang Rai – ChiangKhong – Golden Triangle –Thaton Distance 374 Kms.
Early Morning commence riding through villages, farm lands, and rice fields along a winding mountain road to Chiang Khong City, where you can relax at the Thai, Laos border on the legendary Maekhong river. You then follow the Maekong River as it winds its path through small villages until you reach the Golden Triangle. Lunch is served at a local restaurant next to the river.
After Lunch continue riding along the winding road through indigenous forest and high mountains to visit the royal gardens Phra Tamnak Doi Tung where you can relax in the beautiful flower gardens. You then continue along the mountain pass through the Doi Mae Salong. After resting and tasting some Chinese tea, continue on the road to your hotel at Ban Thaton.
- Day 07
Thaton – Chiang Mai
Distance 217 Kms.
Early Morning start and you are riding on a winding road through indigenous mountain forest. First stop is Chiang Doa, where you may visit Chiang Dao Cave which is the largest cave in Northern Thailand, and continue ride to Chiang Mai for lunch.
At Chiang Mai you will visit Local Handicraft village and the Old City of Chiang Mai, then continue your journey up the mountain to visit Doi Suthep temple, the most famous temple in Chiang Mai. You then take an easy ride back to your hotel in Chiang Mai.
